Assessment and Day Treatment Centre

“My life has been changed forever. I came here thinking there was no hope for me and that I would die a drug addict but I’m leaving here today with a life.”

“ When our family first came in contact with Matt Talbot we were in a very low & dark place. Our son is our eldest and we were experiencing a lot of challenges for the first time. It was incredible to meet the people of Matt Talbot who were willing to take on our case and work so caringly with us.”

We work out of a Harm Reduction model along with utilising evidence based interventions including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Motivational Enhancement Therapy (MET), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) and Family Inclusive Practice.

The main role of this service is to support young people to address their alcohol and drug use, reduce the harm caused by it and prevent it from being a greater problem as they get older. Our service is open Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

The Assessment and Day Treatment Centre accepts referrals from a variety of sources including GP’s, Counsellors, Juvenile Liaison Officers, Probation Officers, Social Workers, Schools, LDTF workers and families.

If you are concerned about a young person who you think may have a drug and/ or alcohol issue please contact us. We will talk with you and offer a prompt appointment to the young person and their families.  If you are a professional and you wish to refer a young person to the Assessment and Day Treatment Centre then you will need to complete a referral form. When the referral form is received it will be assessed by the team and you will be contacted immediately with a decision regarding suitability and with an appointment for the young person and family/guardian.
