Referrals

Assessment and Day Treatment Centre

The Assessment and Day Treatment Centre accepts referrals from a variety of sources including GP’s, Counsellors, Juvenile Liaison Officers, Probation Officers, Social Workers, Schools, LDTF workers and families.

If you are concerned about a young person who you think may have a drug and/ or alcohol issue please contact us. We will talk with you and offer a prompt appointment to the young person and their families. If you are a professional and you wish to refer a young person to the Assessment and Day Treatment Centre then you will need to contact us to complete a referral form. When the referral form is received it will be assessed by the team and you will be contacted immediately with a decision regarding suitability and with an appointment for the young person and family/guardian.

As our service is specifically for young people who are experiencing particular types of challenges, we invite referrals from the individual young person’s Probation Officer, or from their counsellor in the Day Assessment and Treatment Service. This allows us to make a good match between what our centre can provide and what each young person needs.

Once a young person has been referred to the YES Project, he is then interviewed by the Centre Manager and a project worker. If a young person is successful in his interview, a number of forms are to be completed and these will be provided by the administrator on site.
