On the 15th of November MTAS proudly opened their new commercial Training Kitchen at YES. Rachel Allen performed the opening ceremony and all those in attendance were given a selection of food prepared by the trainees. The new kitchen will greatly enhance the Level 4 FETAC Catering course offed at YES, as well as giving our trainees vital experience of a working kitchen in order to prepare them for entry to employment in the catering sector.
There was a great attendance at the opening with representatives from our Board of Directors, MTAS individual centres, CETB, Probation Service, Southern Regional Drug & Alcohol Task Force, family members & volunteers as well as our generous sponsors who helped to make it all happen including the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart. Rachel presented the trainees with their 2016 FETAC Awards which were achieved in Catering Support, Pathways to Employment & Sport & Recreation. Well done to them all.
