Thanks to the recent Capital Funding Scheme received from the Dept. of Children & Youth Affairs we were able to commence works on our 2016 development programme.
At the beginning of November we hired construction machines and purchased materials for the installation of a new 700m running/ walk track around the perimeter of the premises at our residential treatment centre in Cara Lodge. Together with our young persons and resource staff we removed the topsoil around the perimeter of our field, we laid weed barrier followed by 7 lorries of “3/4 down gravel”. Eagerly our young persons engaged in leveling off the surface and had first hand experience in adding an excellent feature that now provides a wonderful and peaceful space to regenerate in the form of running or walking.
