About Us

We provide services to young people who engage in problematic substance abuse. MTAS is a unique service providing a Continuum of Care to the young person and his family. Youth Development & Rehabilitation are the focus of the services.

The continuum of care includes:

1. Engagement
2. Assessment
3. Treatment
4. After Care

Historical Background

Matt Talbot Adolescent Services was born out of twenty years committed voluntary service to the disadvantaged youth of Cork City under the auspices of St. Francis Training Centre.

Hence, Matt Talbot Adolescent Services was formed, incorporated in 1999 as a Limited Company, with Charitable Status. Run by a voluntary Board of Management representative of community, voluntary, statutory and
private sectors.

Target Group

Matt Talbot Adolescent Services provide services to 14– 23 year old males and to their families, guardians and /or significant others.

The residential treatment centre, Cara Lodge caters for 14—18 year olds.
